Common questions
Do I have to apply for senior property tax relief?
Almost always yes. Most states do not lower your bill on their own. You file a form with your county, often by a fixed date each year, and some programs ask you to renew every year.
What happens if I miss the deadline?
Ask the program about late-filing or review options. A past deadline does not establish the next filing period. Calendar reminders are available only for verified future application dates.
Is this list complete?
No. We cover selected programs. A state with no checked programs is a gap in our coverage, not proof that relief is unavailable. Ask your county assessor about local programs too.
