We built the tool we wished existed.

SwitchWize separates sponsored placements from editorial rankings, ranks by what's actually best for you, and tells you exactly how much staying put is costing you per year.

The average American leaves $1,063/year on the table with a low-yield savings account, the wrong credit card, and debt at rates they don't need to pay.* Editorial estimate: savings rate gap ($500) + rewards delta ($340) + loan rate overpayment ($223). See methodology.

Why we exist

We envision an America where great banking options are accessible to everyone, and where every person feels in full control of their financial journey.

Why SwitchWize exists — a short introduction

SwitchWize was founded on a simple belief: banking should work for people, not the other way around.

We remove information barriers by giving you transparent rate comparisons across banking products, straightforward guidance, and simple tools to act with confidence.

The decision — always — belongs to you.

We are not here to tell you what to do — we give you the complete picture and honor you as the ultimate authority on your own life. Along the way, we offer practical guidance that builds habits of financial care — turning everyday choices into lasting peace of mind.

To us, this is a natural reflection of timeless American values: open opportunity, personal freedom, and the conviction that people thrive when given genuine clarity, honest options, and a true partner in their success.

The problem

Hundreds to thousands a year. Quietly.

† In our Money Map examples and early user sessions, we commonly identify hundreds to thousands of dollars in potential annual gaps across savings, debt, mortgage, and cards — the difference between what you currently earn or pay and the best available products in your categories. Individual results vary. Methodology.

Most households leave hundreds to thousands of dollars on the table each year — not because they don't care, but because the information is buried in fine print and switching feels complicated. Traditional banks count on that inertia. It's their most profitable line item.

Comparison sites were supposed to fix this. Instead, most became a second layer of the same problem: rankings determined by who pays the highest referral fee, not who offers the best product. The user ends up just as lost, just with more tabs open.

The approach

Recovery, not just comparison.

We rank by what matters, not what pays

Every product on SwitchWize is ranked by objective criteria: rate, fees, minimum balance, brand trust, and switching friction. Sponsored placements exist and are clearly labeled — but they appear separately from organic rankings and don't influence our methodology.

The Friction Label

A product with a 0.1% lower APY that takes 10 minutes to open online may be a better real-world choice than one with a higher rate that requires a branch visit and a signature guarantee. We score every account on actual switching friction — Low, Medium, or High — so the comparison reflects real-world behavior, not just rate tables.

The Money Map

Our 90-second diagnostic finds your single highest-confidence financial move. It calculates the exact dollar gap between what you're earning or paying now versus what's available — and surfaces the three products most likely to close it. One clear action, not a list of ten.

Daily rate intelligence

Rates are reviewed against FRED, BLS, and direct provider sources. Every number on the site is timestamped. When rates move, we say so — and we tell you whether that movement changes the recommendation.

The team

Built by people who ran out of patience with the status quo.

Editorial

Every guide and article is reviewed by a human editor before publication. No AI-slop. Every claim sourced. Every Bottom Line decisive.

Editorial standards

How we keep the ranking honest.

Rate verification

Rates are sourced from official provider disclosures and checked against FRED API data where applicable. Stale data is flagged and reviewed when material changes occur.

Transparent methodology

Our full ranking criteria, weights, and scoring rubric are published at /methodology. Nothing changes based on advertiser relationships.

Affiliate disclosure

We earn commissions when you apply through our links. This funds the site. It never determines rank order — sponsored products are always labeled as such.

Human editorial review

AI assists with research and drafting. A human editor reviews and approves every article before it goes live. Every piece carries a byline and a review date.

No promotional APYs

We check for intro-rate periods and flag them in our data. We never surface a promotional rate as the ongoing rate without disclosure.

Friction scores

Switching friction (Low/Medium/High) is assessed for every account based on account opening process, transfer time, and support quality — not just rate.

Editorial Team

Every article on SwitchWize is reviewed by a human editor before publication. No AI-generated content goes live without editorial sign-off.
