How SwitchWize Makes Money

SwitchWize is a free service. We earn money when you click on, apply for, or purchase financial products featured on our site. When you use one of our links to visit a financial institution and open an account or complete an application, SwitchWize may receive a referral fee from that institution. This is called affiliate compensation.

How This Affects Our Recommendations

Our editorial rankings, calculator results, and product recommendations are never influenced by compensation. We recommend the product that is the best fit for you based on objective criteria β€” rate, fees, features, and user experience β€” not based on which product pays us the most.

When we feature a β€œSwitchWize Recommended” product, it is because our analysis determined it is the best option for the typical user in that category. If the best product for you does not have an affiliate relationship with us, we will still recommend it.

What We Do and Do Not Control

We control: Which products we review, how we rank them, and what information we display. Our calculators, rate data, and editorial content are produced independently of our advertising relationships.

We do not control: The rates, terms, fees, or approval criteria offered by financial institutions. The products you see on provider websites may differ from what we display. Always verify terms directly with the provider before applying.

How Affiliate Links Work

When you click a product link on SwitchWize, you are taken to the provider's website through a tracking link. This link allows the provider to attribute your visit to SwitchWize. If you subsequently open an account or complete an application, SwitchWize may receive a commission. This does not increase the cost of the product to you β€” you receive the same rates and terms as any other customer.

Rate Accuracy

We make every effort to display accurate, current rate information. Rates are sourced from official provider websites, FDIC data, and direct provider feeds. However, rates change frequently and the information on SwitchWize may not always reflect the most current terms. Always verify rates directly with the financial institution.

FDIC Insurance

When we indicate that a product is FDIC-insured, this means the institution is a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Standard deposit insurance covers up to $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank. Some institutions offer extended FDIC coverage through partner bank networks β€” we note this where applicable.
