What this does not model
- Approval odds. This is a wallet's economic value only, not a prediction of whether you could actually be approved for every card in a combo (issuer velocity rules like Chase's 5/24 aren't checked).
- Category multipliers we haven't verified. A card only earns credit here for a bonus category if we have sourced, category-specific rate data for it. Cards without that data are compared on their flat rate instead of a guessed split -- never a fabricated number.
- Points redemption value. Rewards are valued at their cash-equivalent rate here. See points valuations separately for what a specific loyalty currency is worth on transfer.

How are wallet combos ranked?
By modeled net steady-state value: combined annual rewards for your entered monthly spend, minus every card's annual fee. Rewards are computed per real card from our live catalog, splitting your spend to whichever card in the combo earns more in each category.
Why does a card only get credit for certain spend categories?
A card only wins a specific category (dining, travel, groceries, gas) when we have sourced, category-specific rate data for it. Without that, the card is compared on its flat rewards rate for every category instead of a guessed split -- we never invent a per-category number.
Does this check if I could actually be approved for every card in a combo?
No. This models a wallet's economic value only. It does not check issuer approval rules, application-velocity limits (like Chase's 5/24), or your credit profile against any specific card's requirements.
Why only 2 or 3 cards, and why not every possible combination?
Comparing every possible combination across hundreds of tracked cards is not feasible to compute on each page load, so candidates are first ranked on their own value and narrowed to a shortlist before combinations are generated. The results are the best combos among that shortlist, not a literal search of the entire catalog.
