How the calculations work
  • Personal point value uses your realistic cash alternative after the costs you enter. It can be negative when fees exceed that value.
  • The transfer tool rounds source points up to an absolute multiple, then rounds received partner points down. Confirm your program’s actual rounding, caps, timing and bonus rules.
  • The spending planner keeps calendar months and days separate. Average spending per period is a pacing estimate, not a new eligibility rule.
  • Source-linked card facts keep their check dates and offer qualifications. This tool does not publish a market-wide points valuation or a live award-availability feed.
  • The downloadable report stays on your device. Entered financial amounts are not included in analytics events.

Questions about points and business-card rewards

How do I decide whether a second business card is worth its fee?

Compare the added rewards and usable credits with the added annual fee and other costs. The annual planner compares two anonymous cards using your inputs. It splits spending without double counting and applies one annual bonus cap before valuing points. Welcome bonuses are excluded.

How do you calculate the value of a point?

Use the lower of the cash quote and what you would otherwise pay. Subtract award taxes, transfer fees and cash-booking rewards forgone. Divide by the points consumed, then multiply by 100 for cents per point.

Does a transfer bonus guarantee good value?

No. Enter the current ratio, bonus, minimum and transfer multiple. Confirm card eligibility, award availability and fees. Transfers may be irreversible, and surplus points may have no immediate use.

Does the bonus planner confirm I qualify for an offer?

No. It checks your entered spending target against eligible purchases already made and planned before your deadline. Approval, offer eligibility, excluded purchases, returns and posting rules still matter.

Are the example point values official issuer valuations?

The calculations use your scenario inputs. Starting booking and transfer numbers are illustrative. Card offer targets use dated source-linked facts, and any issuer redemption benchmark is separately labeled with its source.
